The 1st International Forum

The 1st International Forum on Fukushima Daiichi Decommissioning was held in Iwaki City, Fukushima Prefecture, jointly hosted by the Agency for Natural Resources and Energy and the Nuclear Damage Liability and Decommissioning Corporation (NDF), with the aim of disseminating the results of decommissioning and contaminated water measures at 1F and preventing rumors and rumors from fading.

A total of 641 participants from 15 countries, including domestic and international experts, local officials, and students, discussed top-level domestic and international research results on decommissioning and how to communicate with local communities in the process of decommissioning.

It became clear that the decommissioning of 1F is an important theme for Japan to overcome, not only in the technical aspect but also in the social aspect of communication with the local community, drawing on the wisdom of the world.
