Overview of the 3rd Forum

The International Forum on the Decommissioning of the Fukushima Daiichi Nuclear Power Station is held for the aim to share the current progress, technical achievement and all kind of thoughts against the decommissioning works widely with the local community, Japanese and foreign experts.

Session

Facilitator: Hiroshi Kainuma, Associate Professor, Kinugasa Research Organization, Ritsumeikan University Presented the current status of the Fukushima Daiichi NPS decommissioning and points of contention that have emerged since the 2nd Forum

Session

All attendees joined in discussion workshops. Opinions and ideas were exchanged on feelings about the decommissioning process, hopes for the decommissioning process, and what individuals can do.

Session

Based on opinions collected during “Voices From Fukushima” and the “Speaking” session, local speakers will ask questions of 1F decommissioning officials. Decommissioning officials will answer to the satisfaction of participants and local speakers.

Graphic Recording

In the afternoon sessions of Day 1 of the 3rd Forum, graphic recordings were taken in place of minutes. Pictures and speech bubbles were used to make an easily understood summary of the decommissioning. After the sessions ended, participants were encouraged to share their thoughts frankly by choosing from six different stickers to post on the walls of the gymnasium: “Anxious”, “Dissatisfied”, “Unclear”, “Want to know more”, “Want to speak together more”, “Understood”.
